Email Discovery
Find verified email addresses for creators in your lists
Email Discovery
Most creators don't list their email addresses publicly. Stormy's email discovery finds and verifies contact emails for creators in your lists so you can start outreach without manual research.
How email discovery works
When you run email discovery on a creator, Stormy performs a multi-step lookup process:
- Profile scraping — Checks the creator's public social media bios, "About" sections, and linked websites for email addresses.
- Website crawling — If the creator has a linked website or Linktree, Stormy scans it for contact pages, press kits, and business inquiry forms.
- Pattern matching — Cross-references known email patterns from the creator's domain (e.g.,
name@creator.com,business@creator.com). - Verification — Validates that the discovered email address exists and can receive mail by checking MX records and performing SMTP verification (no email is sent during this step).
The entire process typically takes 5-15 seconds per creator.

One-click discovery
The fastest way to find an email for a single creator:
- Open your list in the CRM.
- Find the creator whose email you need.
- Click the empty Email cell for that creator.
- Click Find Email in the prompt that appears.
Stormy will run the discovery process and fill in the email cell automatically if an address is found.

You can also trigger email discovery from a creator's profile page by clicking the Find Email button next to the email field.
Bulk discovery
When you need to find emails for many creators at once:
- Select the creators you want to find emails for using the checkboxes in your list.
- Click Find Emails in the bulk action bar.
- Stormy will queue all selected creators for email discovery and process them in the background.
You'll see a progress notification in the top-right corner. As emails are found, they populate in the list in real time — you don't need to wait for the entire batch to finish before reviewing results.

Batch limits
| Plan | Batch size limit | Monthly discovery quota |
|---|---|---|
| Starter | 50 creators per batch | 200 discoveries/month |
| Growth | 250 creators per batch | 2,000 discoveries/month |
| Scale | 1,000 creators per batch | 10,000 discoveries/month |
| Enterprise | Unlimited | Custom |
Each creator lookup counts as one discovery, regardless of whether an email is found. Lookups for creators who already have an email address in Stormy are skipped and do not count against your quota.
Verification status
Every discovered email is assigned a verification status so you know how reliable it is before sending outreach.
| Status | Badge | Meaning |
|---|---|---|
| Verified | Green | The email address has been confirmed to exist and accept mail. MX records are valid and SMTP verification passed. |
| Likely Valid | Yellow | The email address appears correct based on pattern matching and domain verification, but full SMTP verification could not be completed (some mail servers block verification probes). |
| Unverified | Gray | The email was found on a public profile but has not been verified. Proceed with caution. |
| Invalid | Red | The email address bounced or the domain does not have valid MX records. Do not use for outreach. |

Sending to Invalid or Unverified addresses increases your bounce rate, which can damage your sender reputation. Stormy automatically excludes Invalid addresses from email sequences. We recommend only including Verified and Likely Valid addresses in your outreach.
Re-verification
Email addresses can become invalid over time (creators change email providers, domains expire, etc.). Stormy automatically re-verifies emails in active lists periodically. You can also trigger manual re-verification:
- Right-click on any email cell.
- Select Re-verify Email.
For bulk re-verification, select the creators and use the bulk action menu.
Credits usage
Email discovery uses your workspace's discovery credits. Here's how credits are consumed:
| Action | Credits used |
|---|---|
| Single email lookup | 1 credit |
| Bulk discovery (per creator) | 1 credit |
| Re-verification | 0 credits (free) |
| Lookup for creator with existing email | 0 credits (skipped) |
| Lookup that finds no result | 1 credit |
You can check your remaining credits and usage history in Team & Billing > Credits. Credits reset monthly on your billing cycle date.
Accuracy rates
Email discovery accuracy depends on the platform and creator profile completeness. Based on aggregate data across Stormy users:
| Platform | Discovery rate | Verified accuracy |
|---|---|---|
| YouTube | ~80% | ~95% |
| ~65% | ~92% | |
| TikTok | ~55% | ~90% |
| Twitter/X | ~60% | ~91% |
Why YouTube is highest: YouTube creators are more likely to have business email addresses listed in their channel's "About" tab and linked websites with contact pages.
Why TikTok is lowest: TikTok profiles have limited bio space and fewer external links, making email discovery more reliant on pattern matching.
To improve discovery rates, make sure creators in your list have their correct platform handle linked. An incorrect or outdated handle will cause the lookup to fail.
Best practices
Run discovery after building your list. Add all the creators you want first, then run bulk discovery in one batch. This is more efficient than discovering emails one at a time.
Filter to "No Email" before running bulk discovery. Use the column filter on the Email column to show only creators without an email, then select all and run discovery. This avoids wasting credits on creators you already have emails for.
Review verification statuses before launching outreach. Exclude Unverified and Invalid emails from your email sequences to maintain a healthy sender reputation.
Combine with manual research for high-priority creators. For your top-priority targets, supplement automated discovery with a manual check of their latest social bios, press kits, and management pages. Add the email manually and Stormy will verify it automatically.
Keep lists updated. Creator emails change. Use the periodic re-verification feature or run bulk re-verification on active lists before each new campaign.
