CreatorPay
Pay creators securely with automated invoicing and performance bonuses
CreatorPay
CreatorPay is Stormy's built-in payment system for paying influencers and creators. It handles the full payment lifecycle from invoice creation through payout, with support for performance-based bonuses and automated payouts tied to campaign metrics.

Why CreatorPay
Managing creator payments outside your influencer platform leads to lost context, missed payments, and no connection between what you paid and what you got. CreatorPay keeps payments directly tied to your campaigns, creators, and performance data so you always know exactly what you're paying for.
- Invoicing -- Create, send, and track invoices without leaving Stormy
- Performance bonuses -- Automatically reward creators when posts hit metric targets
- Automated payouts -- Set rules and let payments flow based on real performance data
- Creator portal -- Creators see their own payment history, pending invoices, and payout status
- Stripe-powered -- Secure payment processing with support for bank transfers, cards, and international payouts
Payment methods
CreatorPay uses Stripe as its payment processor. This gives you access to:
| Method | Availability | Processing time |
|---|---|---|
| Bank transfer (ACH) | US creators | 2-3 business days |
| International wire | Global | 3-5 business days |
| Debit card payout | US, EU creators | 1-2 business days |
| Stripe Connect | Global | Varies by country |
Creators receive an invitation to set up their Stripe Connect account when you send them their first invoice. They only need to complete this once.
How the payment lifecycle works
Every payment in CreatorPay follows a clear lifecycle:
1. Create an invoice
Start by creating an invoice tied to a specific creator and campaign. You can set a flat fee, a per-deliverable rate, or leave it open for performance-based payouts.
2. Creator reviews
The creator receives a notification and can view the invoice in their creator portal. They can accept the terms or request changes.
3. Post goes live
Once the creator publishes their content, Stormy's post tracking system begins monitoring performance.
4. Bonus evaluation
If you've configured bonus structures, Stormy automatically evaluates whether posts hit the metric thresholds you defined and calculates any additional payouts.
5. Payout
Payments are processed through Stripe. You can approve manually or set up automated performance payouts to release funds automatically when conditions are met.
6. Record keeping
Every payment is logged with full context: which campaign, which creator, which posts, and what metrics drove the final amount.

Creator portal
Every creator you work with gets access to a self-service portal where they can:
- View all pending and paid invoices
- Track bonus eligibility and progress toward metric targets
- See payout history with transaction details
- Update their payment information (bank account, tax details)
- Download receipts and tax documents
Share the creator portal link during onboarding. When creators can see their own payment status, you'll spend less time answering "when do I get paid?" messages.
Getting started
To start using CreatorPay:
- Connect Stripe -- Go to Settings > Integrations > Stripe and connect your Stripe account. This is a one-time setup.
- Create your first invoice -- Navigate to any creator in your CRM, click Create Invoice, and fill in the details. See the Invoicing guide for a full walkthrough.
- Set up bonus structures (optional) -- Define performance bonuses that automatically apply when posts hit your metric targets. See Bonus Structures.
- Configure automated payouts (optional) -- Set rules for automatic payment release based on deliverable completion or performance thresholds. See Performance Payouts.
You must complete Stripe identity verification before you can send payouts. Stripe may take 1-2 business days to verify your account after initial setup.
Key concepts
Invoice -- A payment request sent to a creator for a specific campaign or set of deliverables. Can include a base fee and optional bonus components.
Bonus structure -- A set of rules that define additional payments based on post performance. For example, "$500 extra if the video gets over 100K views."
Performance payout -- An automated payment triggered when tracked metrics cross a threshold. Requires post tracking to be active.
Creator portal -- A self-service dashboard where creators view their payment status, history, and account details.
Payout -- The actual transfer of funds from your Stripe account to the creator's connected account.
