Errors & limits

Errors are JSON with a stable machine-readable code. Rate limits are enforced per customer across replicas.

Error codes

400invalid_request

Malformed field, unsupported platform, or contract violation.

401invalid_token

Missing, expired, revoked, or invalid API key.

402upgrade_required

Paid data requested without an active entitlement.

402insufficient_balance

Available prepaid usage is below the call's maximum cost.

404job_not_found

The job does not exist or belongs to another account.

429rate_limit

The request window is full. Wait for Retry-After.

429provider_throttled

The shared vendor pool is cooling down. Use Retry-After or submit a durable job.

Search: 1–100 results per request.
Email lookup: 1–25 targets per request; split larger lists into separately keyed batches.
Durable queue: 25 active jobs per customer.
Anonymous preview: 50 cached results per rolling 30 days.
Rate windows: 120 cached, 30 fresh, and 10 email calls per minute.
