NARBE House is Nancy, Ari, and @BeaminBenny. We share our family’s journey and show how technology can transform the lives of people with disabilities. Ben is 29 and lives with TUBB4A-related leukodystrophy (H-ABC). Over time, he lost the ability to use his hands for sign language, could not operate eye tracking software or EEG technology, and had limited fine motor skills. Invasive procedures were not an option. His only consistent movement was turning his head left and right. We never stopped searching for a way for Ben to use an AAC system. With help from ChatGPT, we created custom software that lets him type, choose his own media, and play video games using just two buttons. After more than a decade of silence, Ben has a voice again. We hope our story inspires you to see how creativity and technology can change lives.
