Austin Meyer is a documentary filmmaker, cinematographer, & photographer based in Berkeley, California. He is a National Geographic Explorer whose work has been featured by HBO, Hulu, Apple TV, New York Times, National Geographic, The Washington Post, The Atlantic, & PBS among others. He has worked with organizations such as The North Face, Stanford University, & the United Nations. Meyer’s purpose as a documentarian is to tell stories that change the way people walk through the world by inspiring empathy, curiosity, & wonder. This channel is about filmmaking, documentaries, and trying to stop cyberbullying. The main feature these days is Social Media Monster, a documentary series about internet trolls and people weaponizing social media to harm people. The name "Sonnyboo" were the first words my brother spoke when he named a stuffed animal and as a dedication to him, that's the name of this channel. My brother passed away in 2016 and a cyberpredator commented and said horrible things on the video of me spreading my brother's ashes. This man is relentless and heartless with no empathy or sympathy. Hoping to put a spotlight on how to help victims of this kind of online abuse, and as always, help beginning filmmakers of any age learn from my experience.
