The manual explicitly states: 'Do not operate trucks with lithium-ion batteries or fuel cell power packs in freezing temperatures. Do not leave trucks in freezing temperatures.' To avoid damaging the power source, facility operations must enforce this boundary for all covered RM 6000 units.
Monitoring power levels on Crown RM 6000 trucks depends on the specific power-source installation. For trucks equipped with a V-Force lithium-ion battery or a fuel cell power pack, the energy status is shown directly on the truck display panel.
Trucks qualified and approved to operate with an alternative power source can have a separate display installed on the power source itself. Operators must use the display installed on the power source to observe the energy status (PF18573-F, page 42).
Under Crown PF18573-F page 40, your company should provide an area that is safe to work on power sources, and this area must be used for all power source work and charging. Operators must not charge, refuel, remove, or install a power source unless they are trained and authorized.
Only authorized service personnel are permitted to modify the power source installed in the truck. Whenever service, handling, or recovery is required, personnel must strictly follow the power-source manufacturer's specifications and instructions.
